Anthony gave an excellent presentation on the pressures and the need for detailed preparation of Refereeing at all levels. Some of his insights into Refereeing throughout Europe and in the Premiership were much appreciated by an audience that included officials from the RNFA, the Portsmouth Referee’s Academy and Referees Associations from Hampshire, Wiltshire, the ARMY and RAF.

The 2017 Referee of the year award had been renamed in honour of one of the RNFA’S longest serving officials, Ernest ‘ Jumper’ Collins who passed away earlier this year after over 50 years’ service to the RNFA. Jumper’s family attend the event and presented the award to Scott Jackson following his promotion to 2B and Stephen Jansen was presented with the Level 5 and below Referee of the Year award by Anthony Taylor following his excellent performances at the USA Cup in Minnesota earlier this year.
